Ahoy Huckleberry Gardeners!
Well friends, we're getting down to the wire here. Only two more garden Sundays so let's make them count. Last week we did amazing work on getting all the strawberry and squash mounds weeded and covered, and while this does not sound that inspiring, it all makes possible the NEW and EVEN MORE WONDERFUL strawberry and squash beds of the future, which will be a wonderland of paths and trellises and way better than what we had before, because sometimes in life you gotta make weeds work and sometimes, you just have to start over.
This week we will plant garlic, fun! and do more thises and thats - as well, since we did not have pizza last week, this week there shall be pizza!!.... So come on by and get dirty with us.
PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR!
LAST GARDEN SUNDAY: Oct 18. We will have hot cider and plant spring bulbs and have our end-of-year ceremony where we thank the garden and honor all of the beings we killed, which seems depressing but is actually quite nice.
ON THE MENU FOR THIS SUNDAY:
- planting garlic
- replanting some small trees
- Harvest of the week: kale, tomatoes (not many left!), basil (almost done), arugula, cilantro, peppers
Love,
Shuffy

Happy Autumn, Huckleberry Gardeners!
Wow, we are coming into our last few weeks of official garden Sundays (October 18 will be our last garden Sunday of the season) - what a great season it has been. Thanks especially to those trusty souls who spent many a Sunday this year hauling compost, weeding, planting trees, and making the garden so very beautiful.
But as they say, it ain't over til it's over! It's going to be another super beautiful day this Sunday - 70 and sunny - and we still need help planting garlic and preparing the garden for the fall.
And, as always on the first Sunday of the month - PIZZA!🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕
ON THE MENU FOR THIS SUNDAY:
- continuation of MSMGA (make strawberry mounds great again)
- planting garlic
- Harvest of the week: kale, tomatoes (not many left!), basil, arugula, cilantro
Love,
Shuffy

Ahoy Huckleberry Gardeners!
Are you as blown away by the gloriousness of Detroit in September as I am? Blue sky days and magic hour light nights - ah the wondrousness of it all!
In the garden, the asters and goldenrod are starting to bloom yet we still have the cheerful sunflowers to accompany them. Our fall greens are creeping higher and tomatoes are still abundant.
This week, I purchased MANY flowers to plant for fall plantings - it's a fun job plus there will be pizza🍕🍕🍕 since we did not have it last week for the first Sunday, as we usually do. So come on down to the Huckleberry Sunday and get dirty.
***Please note that we will garden from 4-6pm only this week, to celebrate our dear Grey's birthday afterward.***
ON THE MENU FOR THIS SUNDAY:
- Flower planting
- pizza eating
- Some winter squash harvesting
- Harvest of the week: kale, tomatoes!!! basil, mini eggplant, herbs
Love,
Shuffy
